These butter-glazed French green beans with toasted pine nuts come together in 10 minutes using Better Than Bouillon for rich flavor. An easy, elegant side dish for any meal.
Fast. Elegant. Freakin’ delicious. These French beans get a quick blister, a savory glaze from Better Than Bouillon, and a buttery finish with toasty pine nuts. They look fancy—no one needs to know they took 10 minutes.
Ingredients
1 lb French green beans (haricots verts), trimmed
1 tsp Better Than Bouillon (chicken flavor)
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp unsalted Kerrygold butter
2 tbsp toasted pine nuts
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Instructions
Blister the beans. Heat a large skillet over high. Add the French beans and let them char in spots, tossing occasionally—about 2–3 minutes.
Simmer and soften. Add 1/3 cup water and 1 tsp Better Than Bouillon. Stir to dissolve, cover the pan, and cook over medium heat for 4–5 minutes, just until beans are tender.
Reduce and glaze. Uncover and continue cooking until most of the liquid evaporates and the remaining broth thickens slightly.
Butter it up. Turn off the heat and swirl in the butter until it coats the beans in a glossy glaze.
Top and season. Toss in toasted pine nuts, season with salt and black pepper, and serve warm.
