Thick slices of cinnamon chip bread soaked in vanilla custard, browned in Kerrygold butter, and drenched in maple syrup β the kind of breakfast that makes a slow Sunday feel just right.
A golden, buttery stack of cinnamon-swirled comfort β perfect for a snow day or a lazy Sunday morning.
π₯ Ingredients
3 slices cinnamon chip bread, cut thick (I buy mine from Great Harvest Bakery)
1 large egg, beaten
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of kosher salt
2 tablespoons Kerrygold butter
Butter and warm maple syrup, for serving
π₯ Instructions
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth and evenly mixed.
Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, coating both sides and letting it fully absorb. (There should be no batter left when youβre done.)
Heat a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat and melt the Kerrygold butter until sizzling.
Add the soaked bread slices and cook until golden brown β about 5 minutes per side. Flip and let the bread soak up all the melted butter as it finishes.
Serve immediately with a pat of butter on top and a generous pour of warm maple syrup.
